Driven by an incredible passion for self-expression, believing in teaching correct classical technique over tricks, Ms. Newbury has been on faculty at Boston Ballet Center for Dance Education, Boston College, Phoenix School of Ballet, Scottsdale Community College, Paradise Valley Community College and Phoenix College and Trollwood Performing Arts to name just a few. Currently, she is at Adaptive Force Performing Arts Center in North Scottsdale.
She has guested or subbed at Pineapple Studio (England), The Studio (Australia), Arizona Ballet (currently Ballet Arizona), Boston University, La Pierre (Massachusetts) and many other dance studios throughout the United States.
Trained classically by the late-great Kelly Brown of the Phoenix School of Ballet, (father of Leslie Browne, Elizabeth Brown and Ethan Brown/ABT), Kenda received many opportunities in the concert-dance and the dance-entertainment "worlds", as a performer and choreographer. She was on scholarship to many influential schools, including Gus Giordano, ABT, Ballet West, Hubbard Street Dance, Lewitzky and others,
Her most influential instructors include: Kelly Brown, Lois Black, Jurgen Schneider, Jelko Yuresha, Janina Cunova, Madame Darvash, Stanley Holden, Paul Koverman, Keith Martin, Laura Hurley, Anne Snyman, Luigi, Gus Giordano, Jamie Jamison, Alvin Ailey, Frank Hatchet, Sam Watson, Ralph Lemon and Sarah Skaggs.
